Mina's Story
Finding Love While
Finding Myself
When I moved to New York City in 2017, I was focused on my education and pursuing a career on the business side of fashion. Before the move, I was back in my hometown dating men I knew weren't worth my time — but I did it anyway to fill the void of being alone. So when I got to New York, I knew this chapter was supposed to be about me.
Once I settled in, I found my group of girlfriends, and at the time they were all talking about dating apps. The most popular one was Tinder. I didn't pay any attention to the nonsense, but I was curious to know what it would feel like to explore the city with a partner instead of just the girls. After some convincing, I found myself on the app swiping left and right.
And of course, New York did what New York does — it cracked me open. While I was busy falling in love with my studies, my career, and the woman I was becoming, Dylan appeared (my now husband). We matched on Tinder and went on a date, and a night that was supposed to be harmless fun turned into me finding my soulmate.
That was eight years ago. And the woman who once stayed in the wrong relationships out of fear? She now helps other women stop settling and start attracting the love that was always meant for them.
